I cant see my DVD writer in the first BIOS window where all the attached drivers are visible, i can see my hard disk there but not DVD writer and when i am putting DVD writer on first boot, it shows some different icons which were not there when there was cd writer and it dont boot the bootable cd... one more thing my hard disk is IDE and now DVD writer which i have bought is of SATA.. DVD writer is of LG model number GH22NS30. if you need any more information i can provide. so can anyone tell me what is this problem??? is there a need of BIOS update?? or what is it?
ok appreciated ur reply but want to tell you one more thing that i am not using any SATA to IDE converter, it is directly attached to the motherboard, but with the power cable using converter. So i think there is no compatibilty issues
Do you have SATA options in BOOT Device ORDER in your BIOS. If not, You should update your bios. Usually For updating bios, you can download tools from manufacturer's website of motherboard.
